Ethos, Values and Vision

St Luke’s Ethos, Values and Vision

St Luke’s is a very well-established local Church of England school who serve generation after generation of families in our local EC1 area. As a one-form entry primary school we are known to work closely with families to provide the best education and care for every child. We are told that the minute people enter the school building one can feel the ethos of the school through the calm, welcoming environment, a real celebration of learning and through the relationships evident between adults and children. Children are at the heart of the school- their education, their well-being, their lives and their perspective and we do all we can to ensure they are happy, feel safe and feel supported in every way.

The staff team and governing body are very experienced and united in basing all that we do upon the Christian values of:

  • Trust (telling the truth)
  • Service (Church, Learning for Life, community and citizenship)
  • Kindness (forgiveness, humility, justice, repentance and caring)
  • Friendship and family (peace, respectfulness and love)
  • Perseverance (hope and strength)
  • Thankfulness (gratitude and understanding)

Our vision is to:

‘reach higher than we dream, to become the person we really want to be as we do the best we can for the world, for each other and for ourselves’ which is rooted in “Seek and you will find” Luke 11.9 and “Love your neighbour as yourself”.

This vision and Christian Values make us who we are at St Luke’s and they are central to the life and the of the school every day.
