Summer Home Learning

Islington's School Improvement and Enrichment teams have created some ideas and inspiration for primary school pupils to keep learning over the summer!

Summer learning and family fun

We have created this Summer Home Learning page and uploaded three types of information for you for every week of the school holidays.

  • Ideas and inspiration for learning.
  • ‘Out and about’ ideas to use nature as a tool for learning.
  • Simple ideas for lunch and some recipes to give you inspiration. Get the whole family involved in preparing the meal for you to eat together!

These materials have been created by the 11 by 11 and World of Work enrichment Teams.  All the resources, and much, much more, including website of the week and extra resources, can be viewed electronically at https://www.islingtoncs.org/home-learning where you can also subscribe to updates.

Awesome and Islington Play Association Playgrounds

Adventure playgrounds are opening on the 20th of July. They are running a very different service this year, with reduced numbers of children and a booking system. Please visit the websites below for details of the steps you must take to book.

Islington Holiday Childcare

There are 100s of places available at subsidised schemes.  Please visit the website below for details of the various schemes.

Heatwave, Summerversity and Launchpad programmes are back – with a difference this year. Please see below for more information.

Parents’ Essential Summer Guide

The Parents’ Essential Summer Guide from Islington is below. It is packed with vital information for parents of all aged children. It contains information on sessions and activities; childcare info and more for 0-5 year olds; details of the Heatwave activities and the Summer Reading Challenge for 0-16 year olds; learning activities and resources to get creative for 5-12 year olds as well as next steps for teenagers and under-25s.

Lastly, we want to thank you for your continued support and wish you a safe and healthy summer.
