Spring Term 2 2024

Week 5:

This week, we’ve been developing our ball skills by throwing, catching and rolling. We’ve used tennis balls, volley balls, bean bags and basketballs. Children have worked independently and with a partner to develop these skills.

The children also made Easter bonnets using card and decorated them with paper flowers. They will wear them during the Prize Giving assembly next week.

Week 4:

With daffodils sprouting everywhere, Spring is truly springing. Have a look at our beautiful daffodil paintings.

We also had a blast this week with Safari Pete’s visit! From scorpions to meerkats, the kids got an up-close look at the wonders of the animal kingdom. Thanks for the wild adventure Safari Pete!

Week 3:

This week, we tried tasting different foods and thought about words we could use to describe them.  The children were keen to try nearly everything including a radish and lemon!

On Thursday, we celebrated World Book Day and we spent the day dressed as our favourite book characters.

Week 2:

This week, we begun making Mother’s Day cards. The children made a print of their hands using green paint and used their fingers and cotton buds to make some flowers. They are looking forward to presenting these cards to their mums.

In maths, children were challenged to pick up as many beads as they could in one minute. They were given a pair of tweezers and a sand timer to complete the task. Before they begun, the children had to guess how many beads they could pick up within the allocated time.

Week 1:

What a busy week back! We’ve planted our own tomato and lettuce seeds which we will observe and nurture over time.

We also became; doctors, nurses and patients in our hospital role play area. The children were fascinated by the image of a skeleton so during carpet time, we talked about why we have bones and how we can look after that. Later in the week, we made some skeleton pictures using paper straws and cotton buds.
