Welcome to St Luke's CE Primary School in Islington
We hope you enjoy looking at our website where you will be able to see key aspects of our 'outstanding school' according to Ofsted in 2006 and 2009 as well as ‘extremely strong’ provision for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development Ofsted saw in 2013. St Luke’s is a happy, caring school where the virtues of faith, hope and love permeate. We actively ensure that every child is valued as an individual. Faith is very important to us as we endeavour to live out our Christian values in our everyday lives. At St Luke's our motto is 'always seeking to improve', which means that we are committed to continually improving our school so that we provide the very best education and the most exciting opportunities for our children. We are very proud of our outstanding children.
It is the children who make St Luke’s a special place, and we are proud of all their achievements. We work hard to foster and secure an enjoyable environment which excites, challenges and motivates each child, enabling them to reach their full potential. We have an organised ‘Learning for Life’ program based on core Christian values that build children’s capacity in fellowship, trust, thankfulness, endurance, compassion and service. We have a strong partnership with parents and together we do our best to equip children with confidence to embrace our ever-changing world.
St Luke’s is currently in a federation with Moreland Primary School. A federation is a partnership where one governing body and executive head teacher works across two schools. Within the context of Christian belief and practice, we aim to serve the community by providing an education of the highest quality over both schools.
Our vision for the federation is that every child will thrive as both schools provide a broad range of opportunities where teaching is outstanding and makes a high impact upon learning and achievement. This is the core purpose of the federation; two fantastic, successful, happy schools who are at the heart of the EC1 community.
Valuing people- the children and their families as well as both staff teams is central to achieving success. High quality teaching and learning and consistency in practice are a high expectation across both schools as staff work with energy in partnership, building their individual capacity to achieve more.
All of this is done because the children and their education matter more than anything else. ‘Reaching higher than I dreamed, becoming the person that I want to be, doing the best I can for the world and for me’- this is our mission.
I highly recommend St Luke's to you and I invite you to see for yourself what a fabulous school it is.
