At St. Luke’s C of E Primary School, we follow the LDBS syllabus. The units of learning are rooted in theological concepts, strong subject knowledge and content. They aim to offer a balanced curriculum which enquires into religions and worldviews through theology, philosophy and the human and social sciences. The units offer sequential learning both in terms of knowledge and skills across the primary age range, as well as motivating, engaging and creative lessons for all children. In addition, the approach provides opportunities for children to develop empathy towards people of similar or differing religious or worldviews to their own.
The aims of the syllabus are:
Each year group from Y1 to Y6 goes on a visit to a place of worship.
