Sshh… There’s a Secret Hidden Gem in Islington…

Tucked away just off City Road, St Luke’s Church of England Primary School is one of Islington’s best-kept secrets—a place where curious minds, kind hearts, and big dreams come to life. Step through our gates and you’ll find a school like no other: a vibrant, diverse, and ambitious community that nurtures, challenges, and inspires.

Our journey is underpinned by our L.I.F.E. principles: Love, Include, Flourish, and Empower. Inspired by Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan, we live out our love for God through collective worship and meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth. Rooted in God’s unconditional love, we treat everyone with respect and compassion, nurturing a safe, loving, and inclusive school where everyone belongs. Learning together, we flourish and reach our full potential. We empower each other to make positive change in the community we share.

We’re not just a school—we’re a family. Here, children don’t just learn; they flourish—academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our St Luke's Curriculum is at the heart of all we do. Our rigorous, broad, and engaging offer ensures that pupils leave us with a strong foundation in knowledge, skills, and character—ready to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

Whether our young learners are asking big questions in Philosophy for Children sessions with our P4C advocate Harriet Goodman; belting out tunes with our Music Champion and Choir Leader Nick Jones; getting their hands dirty with Sophia Ioannou in Naturehood sessions; or dancing their way through the curriculum with our Creative Learning Specialist ‘Swoosh’—every child finds their own unique way to shine.

We believe that education should be joyful, meaningful, and rooted in real experiences. We use London—and the world—as our classroom, drawing inspiration from different countries, cultures, and faiths. And we don’t do this alone. We are proud to work in partnership with parents and carers, our local churches and clergy, the London Diocesan Board for Schools, and Islington Local Authority. Through our federation with Moreland Primary School—a local, two-form community school—we are united under one governing body. This fosters collaboration, innovation, and the sharing of expertise between our schools. It enables us to blend the best of Church school values with the strengths of a dynamic, inclusive community school, ensuring that every child in our care benefits from the highest quality education and pastoral support.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and see us for yourself! I lead tours every Wednesday at 9:15 am, and I would love to welcome you to our wonderful community.
