Welcome

Sshh… There’s a Secret Hidden Gem in Islington…

Tucked away just off City Road, St Luke’s Church of England Primary School is one of Islington’s best-kept secrets—a place where curious minds, kind hearts, and big dreams come to life.

Step through our gates, and you’ll find a school like no other: a vibrant, diverse, and ambitious community that nurtures, challenges, and inspires.

We’re not just a school; we’re a family. Here, children don’t just learn—they flourish. They take creative risks and grow into confident, compassionate individuals. Whether they’re asking big questions in Philosophy for Children sessions with our P4C advocate Harriet Goodman; belting out tunes with our Music Champion and Choir Leader Nick Jones; getting their hands dirty with Sophia Ioannou during Naturehood Sessions, or dancing their way through the curriculum with our Creative Learning Specialist ‘Swoosh’, every child finds their own unique way to shine.

We aim to create a loving, inclusive, and inspiring environment where everyone can grow academically, socially, and emotionally by

🙏 Loving God – Our faith guides us through worship, prayer, and kindness. We share God’s love in our school and beyond.

❤️ Loving Your Neighbour – Everyone belongs! We care for, include, and support each other—no one is left behind.

🌱 Growing & Aspiring – With hope and gratitude, we nurture our talents and dreams, always striving to be our best.

💙 Being the Good Samaritan – We show compassion, serve others, and make a positive difference in the world!

We believe that education should be joyful, meaningful, and rooted in real experiences. That’s why we use Islington, London, and the world itself as our classroom—drawing inspiration from different countries, cultures, and faiths.

At St Luke’s, we set high expectations for academic success because every child deserves the best opportunities. Our rigorous, broad, and engaging curriculum ensures that pupils leave us with a strong foundation in knowledge, skills, and character—ready to thrive in the next stage of their education and beyond.

We don’t do this alone. We are proud to work in partnership with parents and carers, our local churches, and our federation with Moreland Primary School, a two-form community school. This federation unites us under one governing body, fostering collaboration, innovation, and the sharing of expertise between our schools. It allows us to blend the best of Church school values with the strengths of a dynamic, inclusive community school, ensuring that every child in our care benefits from the highest quality education and pastoral support.

So, what are you waiting for? Come and see us for yourself! I lead tours every Wednesday at 9:15 am, and I would love to welcome you to our community.
