Year 3 – First Half-Term Highlights
Year 3 have had a busy and exciting first half-term! The children approached every lesson with enthusiasm and confidence, embracing new challenges and showing great curiosity.
In English, they explored the life and achievements of Nelson Mandela and produced thoughtful historical recounts. In Maths, they strengthened their understanding of place value, addition, and subtraction.
In Science, the children took part in hands-on investigations to explore friction, and in Computing, they enjoyed developing their animation skills. They also took part in their first outdoor Environmental lesson, discovering a variety of habitats around the school grounds.
We were delighted to welcome the Amazing Country Trust, where the children tasted new fruits and vegetables and created some delicious dishes. In Design and Technology, they designed and built fan-powered boats, having lots of fun testing them in the water.
Year 3 threw themselves into Inspire Football sessions and were excited to learn new skills in Cricket. In RE, they explored the concepts of Incarnation and Salvation, reflecting thoughtfully on their meaning and importance.
It has been a fantastic half-term, full of learning, creativity, and discovery. The children should be very proud of all they have achieved!
