Spring Term 2 2025

Week 4:

This week, the children have looked at the painting ‘A Regatta on the Grand Canal’ which was painted in 1740. The children talked about what they could see in the painting; boats, water, people, buildings. Some children said they could see Cinderella and Spider-Man :). The children learnt that, like the boats in the picture, some things can float on water and some things sink under. The children put a variety of objects in a box of water to see whether they would float or sink.

The children also learnt how to programme Beebots to make them move in the direction they wanted. The children were fascinated!

Week 3:

We had a wonderful time meeting some fantastic animals as part of Science Week! We met Squishy the python, Lucy the boa, and Charlotte the tarantula! We found out lots about them and also got to touch the snakes, if we wanted to!

Our Naturehood Tutor also came back to visit us and taught us how to plant sunflower seeds and how to care for them at home.

Week 2:

Nursery had an amazing time celebrating world book day! They came dressed as their favourite book characters, and the children had been so excited to share who they were. We had some superheroes, princesses and even a big scary Gruffalo!

It was also pancake day this week and the children had fun decorating their pancakes with a variety of toppings; fruit, chocolate spread and sugar. With the help of an adult, the children also attempted to flip their pancakes in the frying pan!

Week 1:

We finished reading the story ‘Whatever Next’. A story about a teddy bear who flies to the moon in a cardboard box. The children loved learning about space and worked collaboratively to make paper mache planets.

The playground is full of blossoming flowers which the children have thoroughly enjoyed caring for, watering and observing.
