Vision and Strategic Plan

Love God. Love Your Neighbour as Yourself: Be the Good Samaritan

(Luke 10:25–37)

Inspired by Jesus’ parable of the Good Samaritan, we live out our love for God through collective worship and meaningful opportunities for spiritual growth. Rooted in God’s unconditional love, we treat everyone with respect and compassion—nurturing a safe, loving, and inclusive school where everyone belongs.

Learning together, we flourish and reach our full potential. We empower each other to make positive change for the community we share.
At St Luke’s, we Love, Include, Flourish, and Empower – our L.I.F.E. principles.

Our Vision in Action

Our three-year strategic school development plan is shaped by this vision and our commitment to our guiding principles of Love, Inclusion, Flourishing, and Empowerment. Through this, we aim to:

  • Strengthen Christian ethos, well-being, and relationships

  • Embed our Christian vision into all aspects of school life

  • Ensure equity, diversity, and well-being through inclusive practice

  • Strengthen inclusion and support for diverse needs

  • Raise aspirations and drive academic excellence

  • Empower pupils by developing their confidence, voice, and involvement in school life

L – Love

"Love God. Love your neighbour as yourself: Be the Good Samaritan."
(Luke 10:25–37)

At St Luke’s, love is at the heart of everything we do.

  • We love God by building our school life on collective worship, prayer, the Bible, and the Good News of Jesus.

  • We love others by showing kindness, respect, and care for our classmates, teachers, and community.

  • We love learning by approaching every challenge with perseverance, curiosity, and gratitude.

  • We create a safe and loving environment where every child is valued and supported.

Love in our school life means:

  • A positive and respectful school culture

  • Strong relationships between pupils and staff

  • A safe, nurturing space for learning and well-being

I – Include

"Everyone knows they belong. No one is left out or left behind."

St Luke’s is a school where everyone belongs.

  • We welcome all, celebrating our diverse backgrounds, talents, and experiences.

  • We ensure every child is included, particularly those with SEND, EAL, or facing challenges.

  • We stand against discrimination, building a school culture of respect, fairness, and dignity.

  • We work together as a community, supporting families and ensuring all pupils have access to resources for success.

Inclusion in school life means:

  • Equal opportunities for every pupil

  • A fully inclusive curriculum and school environment

  • A commitment to diversity, fairness, and respect

F – Flourish

“Rooted in God’s love, we grow in hope and aspire to become the people God created us to be.”

At St Luke’s, inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan and rooted in God’s unconditional love, we believe every child is uniquely gifted and capable of flourishing in every aspect of life.

Over the next three years, our vision for Flourish is to ensure that every pupil thrives—academically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially—within a nurturing and aspirational environment.

We will:

  • Champion high expectations for all pupils, empowering them to achieve their best and make ambitious choices about their futures

  • Develop each child’s God-given talents, fostering creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking across the curriculum

  • Strengthen well-being provision, embedding a whole-school approach that supports mental health, spiritual growth, and emotional resilience

  • Support holistic development, so that every child leaves us confident, courageous, and ready to contribute positively to their community and the world

Flourishing in our school means:

  • Consistently high-quality teaching and learning that drives achievement for all

  • A rich, inclusive curriculum filled with creative, cultural, and aspirational experiences

  • A school culture grounded in hope, resilience, and character—where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow

E – Empower

“We empower each other to make positive change for the community we share.”

At St Luke’s, we believe that every child has the potential to be a changemaker. Inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan, we nurture courage, compassion, and agency so our pupils can make a meaningful difference—in their own lives, in our school, and in the wider world.

Over the next three years, our vision for Empower is to equip children with the skills, values, and confidence they need to lead, serve, and thrive.

We will:

  • Teach leadership and responsibility, offering purposeful roles such as our approach to student council and digital leaders

  • Promote social action, helping pupils understand their impact and take initiative to serve others, both locally and globally

  • Embed life skills, developing perseverance, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking as part of everyday learning

  • Foster independence and resilience, supporting children to take ownership of their learning and personal growth

Empowerment in our school means:

  • Children who confidently use their voice and take responsibility in shaping their school experience

  • A culture of service, where pupils actively seek opportunities to contribute to their community

  • Resilient, compassionate young people ready to lead with purpose and integrity
