Autumn Term 2 2023

Welcome back after a lovely short break! 

This term the children will be looking at the book Around the world in 80 days. We will be exploring different cuisines and trying them for ourselves. Philleas Fogg travels through different countries and his first stop is India - the children will try some chicken curry and rice to explore the different fragrances India brings to our story. 

For maths we are wrapping up on addition and subtraction, we will soon move onto multiplication and division. We have used manipulatives to help us get a better understanding and religiously use times table rockstar to help us become more confident in our times tables. Currently we are covering 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 7x, 10x and 11x tables.

For RE we are exploring Christianity in depth - as it is leading up to Christmas we are grasping a better idea of Christmas and what is means for Christians who celebrate the holiday. 

Natural History Museum

The children went on an adventure to explore volcanoes on the 5th of December 2023 and they loved it! We did a small workshop looking at volcanoes and how they erupt. They even got a certificate that stated they completed an Natural History Museum accredited Diploma in Earthquakes and Volcanoes. We did also explore the dinosaur section of the museum!
